Both Gregor Mendel and Alfred Wegener proposed ideas that were not accepted completely by the scientific community during their lifetimes. What did their ideas have in common?

1. They were presented by amateur scientists who were not accepted by the scientific community.

2. They explained aspects of genetics that required Watson and Crick's data to be understandable.

3. They needed mathematics to prove their data, and that field was not developed at the time.

4.They required supporting evidence which could not be provided with the existing technology.

Respuesta :

4. They required supporting evidence which could not be provided with the existing technology.

Take a look at the evidence portion of both their theories. With both theories, the evidences came up only AFTER their death. This shows that during their time, they did not have the technology yet to prove or solve the issues they both encountered.
Their ideas that are common is that 4.They required supporting evidence which could not be provided with the existing technology. They do not have the enough technology that can prove their ideas and theories so they failed to explain it to the people.
