To further enhance my understanding of young children, I have selected elective courses that will assist me in my goal and improve my skills. Additionally, my volunteer work for two summers as a teacher’s aide at our local Head Start program has given me invaluable experiences in working with groups of children and assisting a teacher. For example, I helped supervise the students on several field trips, including a visit to the zoo, a dairy, and a local theater performance. On those occasions, I was entirely responsible for my group of 8 to10 preschool students. At the end of the summer, I was given a certificate of appreciation and thanks for my job well done.

I believe that I can apply many of my skills, qualities, and acquired knowledge to working with children in your preschool.
