How common is IPV?
1. Common - about 25% of women (1 in 4) and nearly 11% of men (1 in 9) have experienced IPV.
2. Somewhat common - over 33 million men and women (10% of Americans) report having experienced some form of IPV in their lifetime.
3. Not common - about 5% of individuals experience one IPV incident in their lifetime, and about 2% experience it for longer periods
4. Rare - Only about 2% of women (1 in 50) and 1.5% of men (1 in 70) will experience some form of IPV in their lifetime
5. Very common - Over 30% of Americans experience some form of IPV every year.
