While You Read: Making Predictions
Reading Skill: Make Predictions: A prediction is an informed guess about what might
happen later in a narrative. Predictions
are based on details in the text and on your own
ideas. As you read, notice details that may foreshadow future
events. When you verify
E predictions, you read on to see if the prediction you
made is correct. If a prediction turns
NG out to be wrong, evaluate your reasoning by
asking questions like these:
