I have this sentence: "Find out whether there is/are any time or mileage limits."
I must choose an option depending on the verb-subject agreement: is or are?
Now, I know it is an inverted sentence but also has a compound subject joined by "or". When you have an "or" you should agree the verb with the closer subject. However, since it is inverted I don't know if I should pick "time" (uncountable noun: is) because it is near to the verb or "limits" (plural: are) because that would be the option if it wouldn't be inverted.
Moreover, I'd like to know how would you rewrite the sentence to make it right (not inverted)? Where "there" would be?
