Then, using what you know about how word choice relates to theme, identify textual evidence that supports your theory about what likely happened to Jenna. Pay particular attention to the connotations of words in Jenna's diary entry as well as how she uses figurative language. Jenna’s diary entry may be the only real clue in Jenna missing case, and your case report may be the best chance Apex has to bring her back home.
This is the journal the she wrote the day before she went missing on her way to school:
Dear Diary,
Today will be transformational! My life is never going to be the same.
I've waded through some troubled waters, but I'm finally headed toward the end of the rainbow. Change is in the air. Bliss is on the horizon.
For so long, Dear Diary, you have been my sole confidante. But, I have a feeling my world is about to expand.
I am so very blessed. I have a wonderful family that means the world to me. And I have friends who make my life fulfilling, especially my special friend...who need not be named.
I truly have a great life, and I know how lucky I am.
