In October 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published an article summarizing common characteristics and outcomes of 16 adults who all developed multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-A) associated with COVID-19. These cases of MIS-A were reported to the CDC by clinicans and health departments. The CDC reported that the patients ranged in age from 21-50 years. Nine of the patients had no reported underlying medical conditions; six were obese; one has poorly controlled diabetes; two had hypertensin, and one has obstructive sleep apnea.
