The meeting last week between Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed of the United Arab Emirates -- a landmark visit, if ever there was one -- was just the latest example of formerly hostile nations seeking reconciliation. A week earlier, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who helped orchestrate a multinational boycott of neighboring Qatar in 2017 over terrorism allegations, traveled to the tiny but influential country on Dec. 8 for a private chat with Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. Mr. Mohammed's visit comes nearly a year after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt resumed land, sea and air traffic with the Persian Gulf state after the boycott failed to lead to the changes in Qatar's foreign policy that Riyadh and its partners wanted.
