Hoping to surprise unsuspecting Defendant A and his guests, the police went around to the back door, entering the fenced backyard. Before knocking, Police Officer A moved a large statue blocking a back window and peeked inside. Officer A observed a significant amount of marijuana and rolling papers on the kitchen table. After placing the statue back in its original position, the officers knocked and told Defendant A they would be searching his home because they believed it contained marijuana.
