All of the following are examples of external dialectics (discursive struggles) that play out between a couple and their community EXCEPT:
◯ For their upcoming wedding, Colin and Trevor plan to incorporate several elements of a traditional marriage ceremony as a way to emphasize to their family and friends that they are similar to any other committed couple. However, Colin and Trevor also want to celebrate the uniqueness of their relationship; therefore, they decide to shake things up by riding their bicycles down the aisle to honor the fact that they met in a cycling group.
◯ Jack and Jill recently started dating, and they are hesitant to make their relationship "public" to family and friends because they see that as a big step. However, they both really like each other and have excitedly told a few close friends about their relationship.
◯ Maya and Mason have been dating for a few months. During that time, they have become more and more comfortable disclosing personal details about themselves to one another. Although Mason likes being open with Maya about important parts of his life, he also feels that it is best if he maintains some degree of privacy by keeping some details to himself.
◯ Sam and Casey recently got married and enjoy spending time alone as a newly wed couple. However, they have been experiencing a lot of pressure from Sam's parents (who live nearby) to come over for dinner all the time and hang out with them nearly every weekend.
