A ruthless dictator rules a country in Europe. He is
threatening to invade one of your allies in the region
and take over their natural resources. There is
concern that if the dictator is successful, he will
attempt to invade other countries in the region.
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. As
of 2003, 80% of the population lives below the
poverty line. They are in dire need of funds to rebuild
their out-of-date economic infrastructure and to fight
poverty.
After nearly 16 years of military rule, a new
constitution was adopted in Nigeria and a peaceful
transition to new government was completed.
Upcoming elections may be invalid because of unfair
voting procedures and voter intimidation.
Mexico cannot afford to pay tariffs on imported goods
from the United States and is therefore unable to
expand its industrial base. Mexico's currency is
worthless and no other country is willing to trade with
them.
A water treatment plant in Chechnya was bombed
during an air strike and all of the surrounding villages
are without clean water to drink. As a result, many of
the citizens are becoming dehydrated and contracting
life-threatening sicknesses.
