Week 6 Reflection
At the beginning of each new year, people often make new year's resolutions. Similarly, employees are frequently given goals to achieve or
encouraged to set goals for themselves. Unfortunately, people often find that they have difficulty motivating themselves to achieve the goals and
end up abandoning them altogether. First, read the chapter! Then, based on information you read:
1) Explain why you think goals (or resolutions) are often abandoned or not achieved.
2) Set a goal for yourself and share it. It can be a personal goal, a professional goal, or a school-related goal. Just make sure that it is a goal that is
likely to be successful based on the qualities described in the text.
3) Identify each of the "SMART" elements and explain how your goal fits these qualities.
Your post should be at least 200 words. Please provide the word count at the end of your post in parentheses. You will not be able to see other
posts on the forum until you make your initial post. Your first post is the one that will be graded, so posting a blank or incomplete post to gain
access to the forum is a bad idea! I encourage you to reply to others' posts and engage in discussion with classmates, but it is not required.
Please review the grading rubric in the syllabus carefully prior to posting to make sure that you meet all of the requirements of the assignment.
