Melissa has been asked to check one-year-old Daphne's respiration rate. After washing her hands and identifying the patient, Melissa determines the patient's pulse. Then, with her fingers still at the pulse point, Melissa begins to count Daphne's respiration by watching her chest rise and fall. She counts the respiration for one minute and then documents the rate, rhythm and depth of Daphne's respiration.
