A student is testing the effects of water on a plant’s photosynthesis. They place plant seed #1 in water in the window and plant seed #2 in a dark cabinet with a wet paper towel. After three days they get the following results: plant seed #1 grows 4.2 mm and plant seed #2 grows 2.3 mm. Additionally plant seed #1 is looking spread out and plant seed #2 is curling at both ends at the end of the experiment. In conclusion the student writes, “My hypothesis was proven true that plants need water for photosynthesis because the one in water grew more.”
