In other words, if you have a conversation with a computer and you believe that you are talking with a human, would that computer be intelligent? Why or why not?
I have often wondered how many times; I am talking to a computer and not to a human beingwhen my phone rings off the hook with non-sense calls about home warranties. I have also wondered how many times when I have asked for assistance over the computer, how many times I am getting autoreply or automated answers generated from a computer. The computerized answers are not as smart as a human, in my opinion. A computer is only able togive the answers that it is programmed with. A human can think about answers and approach a question or a problem in different ways, unlike a computer. Not saying that the computer isn’t smart because it is filled with a massive amount of information that we as humans rely on to find out information.
How are human thinking and machine computing similar in the function of memory? How are they different?Humans and Computers are alike in ways that they are both filled with information that can be used and can be helpful to make them self-sufficient to deal with things that they are dealt. But we humans must search the wild wonderful web to find out information that we do not know anything about or that we are unsure about. Like a computer, we as humans must constantly learn to gain knowledge. The computer must constantly be updated so that it is up to date with all its facts also.
Do you think it's possible for computers to ever think or be as intelligent as humans? Why or why not?
Yes, I think they can be just as intelligent if not more intelligent than humans. Scientists are making some remarkable inventions and discoveries with computers. Make them even look very human-like. How do either of the concepts of human intelligence or artificial intelligence apply to any of the following programmatic course themes:
o Self-care – With self – care human intelligence is to me is more important. I can curl my hair and do my make and take care of myself. To where if I was an artificial intelligent robot, I wouldn’t be able to shower and do those things.
o Social justice – Robots can’t go to jail, and they are supposed to be programmed to know the difference between right and wrong. Whereas a human, can go to jail and be punished for the wrong things that are done.
o Emotional intelligence – Humans have feelings and can love, computers or AI cannot feel or love, they are programmed to do certain things.
o Career connections – In the workforce computers are very functional. They are actually in everything that we do in life, but in the work, for they can be more productive by being an assembly line and not taking as many hours as it would forhumans to do the same jobs.
o Ethics – Ethically humans are able to be held for their actions and computers cannot. I don’t believe that AI ethics really hold a spot-on human ethics.
