You are told that the climate is similar to the Mediterranean region but the landscape is predominantly deeply weathered regolith based on granite and it has a preponderance of sandy surface soils with small amounts of organic matter. The clay, where it does exist in the subsoil, is composed of kaolinite and sesquioxides. Based on your knowledge of mineralogy, soil chemistry and soil water relations write a well-reasoned account of the properties of soils you expect to encounter in WA. (15 marks)
