The proposed activity may potentially affect the rights and te claims of First Nations in the area. What would you advise your employer to consider with respect to the following: (1) whether the company has an obligation to consult with First Nations (2) whether you should determine if there is a treaty in place (and why or why not); and (3) the types of information the First Nation may provide to fulfill the required consultation.
