PLEASE HELPP!!
Mauritius is a small island off the coast of Madagascar. This island was once home to the dodo bird (before explorers hunted them to extinction in the 1600s).

The dodo bird was a decedent of a pigeon-like ancestor that somehow swept to the island from mainland Madagascar. DNA analysis of dodo specimens have revealed only a handful of pigeon ancestors landed on the island. This small variety had limited genetics. The dodo was a result of selection from this limited variety of genetics. It is possible that a different bird might have evolved, if the colonizing pigeons had been different.

What mechanism of evolution is represented by the limited number of original pigeons?

A. Founder effect
B. Bottleneck effect
C. Disruptive selection
D. Sexual selection
