Peter wants to find out whether or not fertilizer really makes palm trees grow faster. He takes two identical pots, puts 1 cup of soil into each one, and puts palm tree into each one. He waters the palm trees the same amount at the same time each day. The only difference is that one palm tree is watered w regular water, while the other is watered with water that has fertilizer in it.
