a friend calls you for troubleshooting help. she just purchased a new pata hard drive for her windows pc. she will use it for storing media files (music, video, etc.). she wants to keep the existing drive as her system drive but doesn't want the two drives to share the same data cable to avoid data bottlenecks. so, she disconnected the old system drive and connected it to the drive cable with the dvd-rom drive. she then connected the new drive to the cable where the old system drive was connected. her drive configuration now looks like this:
