Glucose is transported from the intestine across the intestinal cell into the blood via three transmembrane transport steps:
1.) ATP driven anti port of Na+ out of the cell and K+ into the cell.
2.) Symport of glucose and Na+ into the intestinal cell from the intestine.
3.) Uniport of glucose from the intestinal cell into the blood.
