Second, gather proof. Answer the question: should they remain together or not?
Remember proof is the details, examples, and reasons from the story.
Third, write an opinion statement (this is your thesis). No “I” in this essay. You want to be formal. After all, you are writing to a judge. It should be your topic (stay together or not) + your opinion about it = an effective opinion statement.
You will need three well-developed paragraphs in your letter. Yes, it has to be written like a letter.
