In this unit, you considered the factors that have influenced hairstyles of the past decades. One day, historians will be analyzing the hairstyles that are popular today. What conclusions will they come to? Create a PowerPoint or other slide-based presentation that shows at least five different hairstyles. For each hairstyle, identify why the style is popular today. For example, does it have cultural connection to a popular TV show or movie star? Are the hairstyling techniques or products used new? Does the hairstyle represent something about wider cultural trends, such as getting in touch with a person’s heritage or a particular subculture?
Each style and discussion should have at least two slides, and slides should be well organized and easy to read. You can use images of celebrities or ordinary people. Each slide should contain an image and either the social climate it represents or the availability of hairstyling techniques or products.
