The issue of human rights should never be reduced to a tool of "double standard", still less should it become a "mask" in disguise. It is a puzzling fact that since 1977, the State Department of the United States has issued its country reports on human rights practices to the world every year, criticizing countries for their human rights violations. It is ridiculous to think of such selective deafness, to turn a blind eye to one's own problems, to deliberately portray oneself as a defender of international human rights, and to point fingers at other countries. It is fair to say that the United States, which claims itself as a "human rights defender," has actually become the "biggest destroyer of human rights in the world." The human rights problem is so serious that the United States should also reflect on how it can truly improve its human rights standards.
