Logical Fallacies.
Below are ten statements that have logical fallacies. (Some can be seen as having more than one fallacy.) Identify ONE fallacy for each statement. Your answers should be all different fallacies
1. My algebra class is really hard. All the algebra classes in this school must be hard.
2. After the governor raised taxes, the price of bread at my grocery store went up. Clearly,
raising taxes causes increases in grocery prices.
3. If the referees let one player get away with a personal foul, all the fans in the stands will
think they can get away with fighting each other.
4. The prosecutor says there was no evidence to prove the defendant innocent so he must be
guilty.
5. Lots of people smoke cigarettes, so they must not be harmful to everyone.
6. We shouldn't worry about animal rights when we have so many people using guns.
7. The Senate candidate never ran a business, so voters should not listen to his reasons for
increasing minimum wage.
8. Homeless people are like leeches on the body of society.
9. If you don't buy a smart phone, you will be ignorant of world events.
10. My son's biology teacher says that NASA will be sending rockets to Mars soon.
