Article 1: Running for Student Council President-Speech
I would like to begin by welcoming you all, students of Made-Up Middle, to the student council election speeches. I
feel like you all know me, and I know all you, so I'll skip the introductions and cut straight to the point. I am running for
president of the Made-Up Middle student council because I feel like the main issue in this school is lack of a positive
morale. I have many ideas I would like to share with you which I believe will help to promote a more positive morale
amongst staff and students alikel
We should start by incorporating school fun nights. These evenings would be a great way to come together as a
school community and to relax and have fun. They would include snacks and games and music and many options for
teachers and students to hang out.
I also feel like there is a lack of clubs and activities which could be improved. These could be during lunchtime and
after school. It really wouldn't matter so long as we were getting people together to socialize and do something that
Interests them. As president, I would also lobby to bring back monthly pep rallies to cheer on our sports teams and
build enthusiasm.
I also think that we need to incorporate more field trips into the curriculum. These outings would be an excellent way to
explore the many interesting areas around us. Through these combined experiences, we would become more united.
Team building activities amongst classes in our school would also promote a positive spirit within the school as would
holding a week-long winter carnival next year.
I also believe that the scenery in the school is somewhat drab. I would like to have art classes paint murals on the walls
and for the common areas to be decorated to help brighten up our environment! I can also envision weekly prize
draws for students who are recognized for exhibiting positive behavior. I would also like to run a campaign to remind
everyone to make intentional choices to engage in positive interactions with those around them,
I believe that as Made-Up Middle's student president, I could help to develop a more positive sense of morale in our
school community and help us all to become more cohesive. On election day, please consider voting for me.
Thanks for listening.
