Please take some time to research the life and work of one female artist. Write an essay discussing how the artist’s work relates to the artistic movements of her time. Include how gender impeded artistic careers in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and whether you think that female artists are equally represented in art historical scholarship as their male contemporaries.
