For a coarse-sand beach (D = 1.5 mm; ws= 20 cm/sec) and fine-sand beach (D = 0.1 mm; ws = 0.8 cm/sec) and assuming T = 12 sec as a representative wave period, use the relationships with H/L and the Dean number discussed in class and presented in the text to evaluate the wave heights required for the transition to a bar-type beach profiles. Compare the results of the two different criteria. (Hint: If the wave steepness is greater than 0.03 you have a bar beach.
