You have served three years as head of your state's
human services agency. In general, your relationship wit
the governor has been quite good, and your relationshi
with the legislature (which is dominated by the
governor's party) has been congenial as well. Recently,
however, there has been a move in the legislature to
reduce funding for a child-care program you think is
essential to finding and maintaining employment for
women on welfare. What would you do?
