The extinct mega bird Aepyornis maximus (shown above in relative scale) was running at an inital speed of 11.3 m/s and slowed to a final speed of 8.8 m/s. The time for the change in velocity is 2.9 s.
1. Compute the acceleration of Aepyornis maximus in m/s^2.
2. If the bird continued to slow down at the rate above, what will be it's final speed in m/s after 4.8 seconds?
