What to Do: Write a 2- to 3-page essay in response to the following prompt:
In many works of literature, a physical journey – the literal movement from one place to another – plays a central role. Discuss how the journey in Siddhartha adds to the meaning of the work as a whole. Avoid mere plot summary; you must analyze the deeper meaning created by the journey via literary choices Hesse makes in his writing.
Okay so here is the format for the intro paragraph:
1. A sentence that introduces the title, author, genre, and subject of the literature.
2. Thesis or The defensible interpretive claim that you will prove in your essay (a clear answer to the essay prompt).
3. A statement in your words about what happens in the literature to support your thesis. These become your supporting points for topic sentences.
