How a Bill Becomes a Law???
Organize the steps in a Bill becoming a Law by placing the numbers in the correct order
1. H.458 is debated on the floor and an amendment is added which requires schools to hire an additional custodian for the program
2. The Senate Committee for Environmental Protection does not agree with the additional custodian and changes S.458.
3. The Committee passes the bill without any changes.
4. The idea becomes a Bill , which is introduced into the House of Representatives and assigned the number H.458
5. The President Signs the Bill and the Bill becomes a Law!
6. A Conference Committee decides against requiring the additional custodian . 7. The Bill is sent to the Senate and assigned a number ( S. 458) 8. Greenpeace wants all schools to place recycling bins in the cafeteria . 9. The Senate passes a Bill different from the House of Representatives.
10. The new version of the Bill passes both Houses and is sent to the President .
11. H.458 is sent to the Committee for Environmental Protection
12. The Rules Committee places H.458 on the Schedule .
13. H. 458 passes the House of Representatives .
