money or a great increase in wealth provided
some mobility.
OB. The middle class began to demand more and
more of the aristoi's rights and privileges,
until the aristocrats eventually caved.
O C. The perioikoi started moving closer to the
main cities, threatening the land held by the
elite aristoi.
O D. The elite noble class eventually collapsed
under the weight of debt it owed to the
nouveau riche, or business class.
